Boston is getting warmer and warmer lately, and it leaves the coldest weather in the past 6 years behind. The Red Sox have already started to play, and you can see many local Bostonians and tourists alike wearing Red Sox t-shirts around the city, making it come alive with color. It also doesn’t hurt that the trees and flowers are blooming in Boston’s Public Garden. With warm weather around the corner, all the students at GEOS Boston are looking forward to playing soccer and basketball with their classmates on nice afternoons. Those activities have built a great relationship between the students and the teachers as well! Please join us!

Student Testimonial for GEOS Boston

GEOS Boston is a good school to learn English. I like the people, my teachers, my class mates. It’s a nice place. I could know many people for around the world. The teachers are good people, are humane, and help me when I needed. Thank you so much for this opportunity in my life.
Big Hugs!

Business English Elective Course!
Over the next three months, we will give you a closer look at each of our three Electives! This month, we are highlighting Business English.

Business English runs Monday through Thursday, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. This class is designed to prepare advanced students for the world of business communication. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand and respond appropriately to professional telephone calls, emails and letters. The course also shows students how to create a cover letter and resume, how to look for a job and how to find volunteer opportunities. The teacher, Ashley, says of the class that, “The class appeals to more than just students who are looking ahead to a career in business. Business English is a common part of every day life, from opening a personal bank account to signing a lease for an apartment. The class deals with business language that occurs everywhere, every day!”

Student Review for GEOS Boston's Business English

I have been in business English class in GEOS Boston for over 12 weeks. I chose to take business English because I know the importance of communication skills in daily business life. Before I came here, I had some experience in my country working an international company. I can definitely that writing proper emails to your customers properly responding to their requests are indispensable in business. Nowadays, emails are a way of staying in touch with a new business acquaintance, friend or a colleague. Most of all, people find it easier to understand a written email than speech. Moreover we are learning about negotiation procedures, making agreements, having meetings. Etc. I can recommend this elective class to those who are interests in international business as a major in university or are eager to improve their business correspondence.

GEOS Boston Pathway Workshop
Because of its many universities that focus on a wide range of degrees and fields, Boston is a student-centered city and education is a key part of the culture. In fact, Boston is home to the oldest educational institution in the United States: Harvard was founded in 1636 and it is known as the one of the best universities in the world. In the spirit of Boston’s commitment to academics, GEOS Boston is dedicated to providing our students with opportunities to continue their education. We have eight pathways to various universities and colleges in the area. GEOS has invited a member of the staff from Cambridge College and Quincy College on April 8th and 15th.
