International Food Day
On Friday 17th September, GEOS held an International Food Day where students brought in their favorite dishes from their home countries. We enjoyed home made pad thai from Thailand, fresh cheese bread from Brazil, delicious lamb and rice from Saudi Arabia and desserts like pudding from Korea and chuli from China ! And of course, it wouldn't be an American party without a pizza!

Labor Day!
On the first Monday of September each year, the United States celebrates Labor Day. The original celebration of Labor Day was outlined in the first proposal of the holiday in the late 19th century: A street parade to exhibit to the public "the strength and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations," followed by a festival for the workers and their families. This became the pattern for Labor Day celebrations. Public speeches by prominent men and women were introduced later, as more emphasis was placed upon the economic and civil significance of the holiday. Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer. The holiday is often regarded as a day of rest and parties. Forms of celebration include picnics, barbecues, fireworks displays, water sports, or one last vacation with friends & family before "back to school"!!

A warm welcome to our newest staff member, Student Services Coordinator Alexandra Simmons! After obtaining her Bachelors degree in Marketing and non-profit studies from Springfield College, Alex moved to Boston and has lived here ever since! She loves to try new things, especially food and drinks, and she spends the little spare time she has volunteering with her favorite charities and travelling with friends. Alex always knows the fun and exciting spots in Boston to check out, so come share a story about a new place you visited or interesting adventure you had in town! .jpg)
The staff and students of GEOS Boston would like to say a grateful goodbye to Kanae Fukushima, who has been a wonderful intern and a solid addition to the GEOS Boston team for the past four months. She stayed with a local homestay family, acted as an assistant teacher in her classes, and learned a great deal about American culture. She contributed to the knowledge and personality of the school in many ways, and helped get us through the busy summer in Boston. We wish her luck in all of her future endeavors, especially in fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher back in Japan. Keep in touch, Kanae!!
Our student of the month for August was Shujaa Alharbi! Congratulations Shujaa - GREAT JOB in Level 2! Shujaa will be receiving a free Private Lesson for his hard work!
An Honorable mention goes to Adhwaa al Suhayyan. She is in Level 2 - keep up the good work!

I studied in GEOS just six week, but I had a very good time with my friends and teachers. Especially because we have some rules that we have to speak "English Only!" I think it is very good rules for us. Thank you so much! I am happy to meet my friends!

The programs, teachers, staff are great at GEOS Boston and very friendly. Homestay services are good. The best experience I had studying in the U.S., I learned a lot about a different country.

It was such an amazing time to spend this summer with you. I stayed in GEOS Boston three months. These three months weren't just for English education. I met so many good, fun people. It was my best summer! I'm sure that we will keep in touch. I want to thank GEOS for making us closer - thank all my teachers, thank all GEOS's members, thank all my friends!
