Michael Power: Michael is the new Homestay Coordinator for GEOS Boston. He has been with GEOS since the summer of 2010 and his great knowledge of all things to do with housing comes from his family business background in Real Estate. Michael is originally from New Hampshire and moved to Boston after completing his degree in International Affairs in 2005. He has been teaching English as a foreign language since, including one and a half years teaching in South Korea. Michael has taught all ages and levels, from orphans in rural Korea, to research doctors through GEOS Boston. All questions regarding homestay accommodations or private apartments can be handled by Michael.
Ikuko Yanase: Ikuko has worked for GEOS Japan, GEOS Hawaii and now GEOS Boston over the last 3 years. Prior to working with GEOS, she worked in Munich, Germany for two years at Mitsukoshi Department Store. It is not the first time Ikuko has visited Boston. She originally studied in Boston when she was a student at Showa University so she understands what it is like for new students when they arrive here. Ikuko is excited to have the opportunity to use the knowledge and experience that she gained as a student to support other students so they can adjust quickly to life at GEOS Boston.
I studied at GEOS for almost 2 years. I learned many English skills from the Intensive English classes. GEOS Boston’s teachers are very friendly and helpful for all students to understand English. Also, the staff, of course, always tried to help me learn English. GEOS Boston is not only a language school, but also my family. Thank you guys for everything!! Juun from Korea
I have been at GEOS for 2 months and I had a really great time. I could improve my English a lot and right now I have much more confidence to speak English than before. I could meet amazing people from all around the world at GEOS. The teachers and staff are really friendly and professional. I definitely had a wonderful experience. Thank you for everything. I’ll miss you GEOS Boston! Leandro from Brazil |
Please enjoy some pictures of our current TOEFL Preparation Class:
Chawat Tongma: Patient and hard-working, Chawat absorbs information and puts it into practice after hearing it only once. Chawat treats everyone fairly and really helps to facilitate great discussions in the classroom. From pronunciation to speaking, to writing, Chawat is able to express sophisticated ideas in efficient and effective ways. Great job, Chawat!
Hee-Kyong Kim: Hee Kyoung has a mind for grammar and writing. She understands difficult concepts and her writing and comprehension have improved greatly in just a short time at Geos. We look forward to tracking her progress over the coming weeks.
Great job, Hee-Kyong and Chawat!
