The next generation of TOEFL, iBT TOEFL is here...are you ready? GEOS is...and you can be too! At GEOS Language Institute Boston, since September 2005, our TOEFL Preparation Course has been updated to help international students who are preparing to take the iBT TOEFL exam for entrance into North American colleges and universities. This comprehensive course helps students prepare for all sections (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) of the iBT TOEFL test by developing special skills and strategies that lead to more efficient test taking. While many schools send students straight to the computer for testing practice, our students study first with a very experienced and friendly teacher. They become comfortable with speaking and writing under pressure before they practice their testing skills. A GEOS TOEFL Preparation Course can help you reach your goals. And, with a maximum of 14 students, you are sure to get the extra attention you need to succeed.
Our TOEFL Preparation Course meets five days per week, for a total of 20 hours each week. Students work with two different instructors and the most up-to-date, effective textbooks and materials available. There is a two-part approach to the TOEFL Preparation Course. First, we focus on improving your English skill. Students work on vocabulary building, critical listening and reading, essay writing, and speaking. The second focus is on building TOEFL skills and test strategies to help you get a good score. Every iBT TOEFL exam is different, but each test has the same types of questions. We help you get familiar with the kinds of questions TOEFL questions. Once each week, students sharpen their skills by taking practice TOEFL tests - a great way to build test taking stamina and monitor your improvement. At the end of each four-week session, each student has a one-on-one counseling session with one of their teachers. This is how we help you monitor your progress. All students receive a GEOS certificate.

All students applying for the TOEFL Preparation Course must take our MEPT placement exam in order to determine their current level. This exam is offered free of charge. A minimum score of 60 is required to join the TOEFL Preparation Course. Exceptions to this policy are at the discretion of the Academic Coordinator.
